Featherbed Island House is an ecofriendly 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom vacation rental cottage in downeast Maine. Specifically, our home is located in the tiny hamlet of Machiasport in Washington County - the easternmost county in the United States.
Machiasport is a rural downeast village with quaint small-town character. Just a few miles down the road you'll find the vibrant town of Machias where you will find a supermarket, restaurants, pubs, a farmer's market and the University of Maine.

Machiasport is the perfect central location as the homebase for your bold coast Maine vacation.
It's perfectly placed for day tripping to:
Bar Harbor (90 minutes),
Acadia Nat'l Park (90 minutes)
artsy Eastport and Lubec (45 minutes)
Campobello Island (45 minutes)
St. Stephen, NB - Canada's chocolate town (90 minutes)
and all of the coves and fishing villages in between.
There is no need to fight the summer crowds in Acadia!
